The Professional Regulation Commission announces the indefinite postponement of the Licensure Examinations for Electronics Engineers and Electronics Technicians this year.
Widely known as the ECE Board Exam, its schedule this October 18, 19 & 20, 2013 has been postponed by the PRC. The said board exam is to be conducted to here and abroad, and the Board of Electronics Engineering recommended its postponement for a reason stated in PRC Commission Resolution No. 773 dated July 23, 2013:
“While the Board anticipates new appointments to the Professional Regulatory Board of Electronics Engineering, it has determined that there will be no sufficient time for the new members to formulate questions and prepare for the October 2013 licensure exams”, the Board said.
The vacancies in the Board of Electronics Engineering that needs to be filled was cited by the resolution as the main reason of the postponement. The Board was only left with one member, and it would take time to select new members and to prepare the exams. The Board, as a collegial body, is short of the requirement for a quorum to validly perform its duties and functions, specifically in the formulation and extraction of test items/questions, examination proper and releasing of results.
