The Alaska Aces mounted a comeback against the Barako Bull Energy Colas while the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters survived the Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters‘ fourth quarter rally.
The Alaska Aces ended their two-game losing skid by making defensive stops in the payoff period against the Barako Bull Energy Colas. From a 77-85 score in the last three minutes of the game, the Aces rallied with a 14-4 run, allowing the Energy Colas only a single field goal out of six attempts. The Alaska Aces completed a come-from-behind victory with 91-89 final score. Wendell McKines tallied 21 points and 15 rebounds while Cyrus Baguio added 15 markers and seven boards for Alaska. The conference leader in points Mike Singletary posted 38 points and 10 rebounds and Ronjay Buenafe chipped in 12 points, but their efforts came short for them to tally a win.
The Talk ‘N Text Tropang Texters did put up a fight against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters in the fourth quarter, only trailing by two points, 102-104. Rain or Shine lead by as much as 19 points, but Talk ‘N Text erased that lead, even taking it on the final period. The Tropang Texters had their new import to help them grab a win, but they fell short against the Elasto Painters. Courtney Fells posted the game-high 28 points, five points and four steals while Sean Anthony and Ranidel de Ocampo added 14 points each for the Tropa. Arizona Reid lead the E-Painters with his 26 points even while limping most of the payoff period.
